The client approached us about building a custom home on an existing property that they had fallen in love with in Westport.
The problem was that evolving zoning regulations would have forced them to build a much smaller home on that property if they knocked the existing one down.
So we came up with a strategy…
In order to build our clients’ dream home while also satisfying the zoning regulators, we kept a few elements of the existing structure and built upon on it.
The result was a beautiful custom home, sized to the clients’ specifications rather than the zoning boards’.
